At the City Logistics for the Urban Economy (CLUE) Annual Symposium 2025, held at the University of Toronto, Purolator highlighted Envio’s digital shipping label as part of a wider discussion on how urban logistics systems are evolving.
The symposium brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners to explore how cities can better manage freight movement as delivery volumes continue to rise. Key themes included last-mile efficiency, sustainability, and the growing role of digital infrastructure in enabling more resilient, transparent, and adaptable logistics networks.
Results from early proof of concept work demonstrated that Envio’s Artac digital shipping label is compatible with existing handheld and in-line scanning systems, while providing reliable tracking both indoors and outdoors, whether assets are stationary or in transit. These capabilities align closely with sustainability initiatives, reducing reliance on single-use paper labels while improving visibility across complex urban delivery networks.
As urban delivery challenges intensify, solutions that tightly integrate physical packaging with digital infrastructure are becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation around the future of city logistics. More information about the event is available via the University of Toronto’s Mobility Network.
