About the Project

Envio and Polar Thermal partnered to create a digitally connected piece of reusable cold chain packaging. By implementing Envio's Artac technology, the packaging could be remotely monitored in terms of location, temperature and opens. The solution solves a critical problem in cold chain logistics: the visibility gap. Even with advanced sensors capturing granular temperature data, that information is often hidden in backend systems or mobile apps, inaccessible to frontline handlers like drivers, dock workers and inspectors. This creates a significant risk of data existing but not being immediately visible or actionable at the point of handling, the combined solution puts temperature data right on the digital shipping label itself.
